IT at school
In our group we thought about how IT-lessons should be done. We did this because there huge differences in the level of teaching at different schools. We collected ideas for how to get rid of this situation and thought of some standards for student
Technical equipment:
During IT-lessons students should have access to modern computers and also a fast internet connection. This helps to provide good learning conditions and makes it possible to develop the student’s skills. It doesn't have to be brand-new hardware but shouldn't be older than two years. The software should be the latest. It would be good if everyone can use a computer alone. Only these way teachers can find out if everybody works and catches up with the material.
Teachers:
All teachers should be well qualified in IT. Nobody should teach IT without essential knowledge about the subject. They should have an exact plan of what to teach and how to use time effectively during the lessons. Teachers should also offer some extra lessons for those that are really interested.
Groups:
Student skills should be tested frequently and as a result of it pupils should be divided into groups due to their knowledge and abilities. This would help to avoid the situation that weaker student’s slow down the better ones. As a result of this the pupils would be able to use their potential in a right way and won’t get in trouble because of the high level that is expected.
